The Optical Sciences Refraction Program is produced by the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) and is administered by the Opticians Association of Canada (OAC) to students residing outside of the province of Alberta. This program is offered in English only.
REFRACTION COURSE (OPSC617) - The 15-week online Refraction course is intended for contact lens fitters who wish to enrich their professional development and flexibility in the job market. Students learn the theory of and methodologies involved in refraction.
REFRACTION CLINICAL (OPSC695) - The 6-month Refraction Clinical course may be taken concurrently with OPSC617 or after successful completion of OPSC617. Students enhance their Opticianry skill set with hands-on practice in performing ocular assessments.

Continuing Education
The Opticians Association of Canada (OAC) has an extensive online continuing education library available to its members for use towards their professional learning requirements. The online library consists of electronic module articles as well as video modules. New content is consistently being added to the online library for the benefit of our members.
OAC members receive unlimited online modules per year as a benefit of membership.
